The Liver
We know that when taking the Flower Essence, anger and aggression are, simply put, a frequented station on the road toward the Virtues, demonstrating that the person has arrived at Wood’s territory whose rebalancing is indispensable. It constitutes the first Movement toward delimiting one’s own space. But rather than drawing it with calm, firm authority, the uncontrolled fury of so many unspoken words is needed.
It is a first and imperfect balancing act; up till now, Wood’s balanced Energy went underexpressed with things unsaid, fear and timidity, and want for one’s own desires and projects.
When the Centaury type begins taking charge of herself, she must learn to organize daily life and recognize her own desires. Anger breathes life into the strength and enthusiasm she was missing for digging in her heels, reaching down into her roots, and saying, “Here I am, and if you want to cross this line, you had better well ask my permission.”
Of course, we’ll find it rather startling to see this person—who a few days ago was docile, benevolent, and empathetic to the point of disappearing into others, who spoke rather softly, and who was easy prey to the point that she seemed dim witted, blind—suddenly become robust, impulsive, and even indignant in the face of others’ attempts at directing her. The authority and determination gained through strengthening the Kidney are used, at first, with fury and reclamation.
We might take into consideration the state of the Gallbladder, which, as we mentioned in the section on Cerato, provides the courage to act to bring about change despite psychological pressure and fear. Weakness in this Viscera makes the person shy, fearful, and easily discouraged.
